Career advice needed:
I'm 37 years old and have been in the medical field for over 10years now. It's an ok career, but I always feel that there is something else I should be doing? I make $50-60K/year which is better than some and not as good as others. Should I go back to school and find something else a little more fulfilling? How do you know if your in the right career for you? I've always known that I don't want to do what I do forever, but I'm been doing it for so long, the thought of investing time and money for something different is scary. Any advice, I would greatly appreciate.

A Life of the Party (Male, Los Angeles, 26-28, Who Cares?) asked:

What are you supposed to do if your parents want you to be someone you are not? I don't want to be specific, but basically my parents want me to have one career, and I want another career. If I take their career, I won't be happy, if I take my career I will be happy except for the fact that I've disappointed my parents. Besides this, they've been great parents, so I can't really write them off. Any advice?

A Guy Critical (Male, London, 29-35, Fitness) asked:

Bit of a career question and could do with some advice.

I'm 30 and have a very good job - good career prospects etc but my heart just is'nt in it and unfortunately my degree and education has been based around my job so i will completely have to re educate/train myself for another job.

AM i too old to do this and start again?

Has anyone been in the same position?

Luckily i'm single which helps but i know that most women find men with a good direction and job an attraction.

Ideally i would like to move abroad as its always been one of my ambitions so i'm probably going to look into something that allows me to do this.

Thanks for any advice.

what career shall i do? please help... :( / Career / 5:54 PM - Friday June 16, 2006 Back To Top
A Hip-Hop Guy (Male, London, Who Cares?, Student) asked:

i need some career advice... im 16, and just done my GCSE's (end of high school exams, leading towards college) - and i feel like my grades will be ok-ish!

main thing is - that what career shall i go into? i was gonna go into medicine, and try to become a doctor-- but you need REALLY high grades in science from these GCSE's, and that would be impossbible as my modules in science... are well crap - even if i did college in science, medical schools are SOOO tough, they will be looking at my gcse grades!!

anyway, after a change of career idea - i realised... what shall i do? i enjoy maths, and wouldnt mind runnign around, whilst workin of i had to.
i love commiunicating with people, and enjoy having fun, and love to listen to people, and socialise - also help people, etc.

i was thinking a choice in accountancy, bcause i would like a career with a lot of income - in the future!!

but i need career advice... seriously, what would you recommend, or what can u advise to choose - or other alternative careers, etc..

thank you sooo much, i really aprreciate this :) x
