A Thinker (Female, 29-35) asked:

I had lot of problems in my previous job.so i quit & joined new job. I'm not happy here also. I feel really pissed off when people make me do things which i don't like to. No one in this office answers calls except me. If visitors come i have to serve them. Why ? why only me. There are 3 other assistants & do you all know I'm the assistant of the big boss in this office but i work like an office assistant rather than personal assistant. i dont understand what to do. Since i'm new, I cant say this to my boss. i hate myself sometimes. i feel very depressed but i act as if i'm happy. giving those fake smiles. oohhhhhhhh

Update: May 12, 2008.
Thank you all for the encouragement.

If you haven't discovered this by now I doubt you ever will but... every work place has it's ups and downs and people who are lazy and leave everything to someone else. I worked the same job for 34 years. My entire adult life and if I had quit every time someone made me mad I wouldn't have lasted a day at ANY job. This is life sweetheart. I had a sister-in-law that get job after job and never worked anywhere long enough to earn one week of vacation. She quit everytime someone looked at her wrong. Now she has NO retirement. Do you want to be like that? Do your job... do the best you can even if it means doing something extra, and don't always take over so that the slackers get off so easily. Let them be accountable for what they are supposed to be doing. And NO, do not go running to your boss with complaints. If he has eyes and half a brain, he'll figure it out.

At least you have that option to get another job if you so please. I on the other hand has gave up my rights to fight for the freedom of my country and the well being of my loved ones.

Sometimes I feel like quitting but I'm immune. I taught to never quit. To always complete my mission. SOrry I'm tired lol I'll shut up now.

But if your not happy with anything that's going on. There is no harm in letting them know. Be honest don't put on a fake smile. Conflict Management ~~ Express yourself but in a manner that will not back fire on you.

I feel really pissed off when people make me do things which i don't like to. Well that's why it's called a job. What you need to do when you get a job is find out what your responsibilities are. Once you know this you can decide whether you're okay with executing these. If not then you should not accept the job.

If you go overboard and really try to help those people, the boss will see. there are plenty of places where people don't lke what they have to do but it is part of the job if the boss says so.
