Makes perfect sense to me. What is the point of saying 'til death' and then getting a divorce? It's makes much more sense to say 'for the next five years' and then you can either renew it for another five years or not.

not really. I think that gives people an out from the beginning. I think you should try to make it last forever..but if you can't, there's nothing wrong with divorce..but why go into it believing you're not gonna 'renew' or whatever.

hey cool... my answer actually made a post. Apparently this is being done in one of the Scandinavian countries. I mean why not. Not everything last forever and people we change over time. The person you marry 10 years ago could be 50 lbs heavier and lazy. That's not what we agreed to when we got married correct???

Better or worse is one thing, but just settling for worse isn't good enough.

I think the concept of marriage should be eliminated along with all vestiges of religion, which is the major driving force behind marriage.
