Nooooo, I was the red-faced one that the boss said "Why can't you be like HER?"

I'm not sure which is worse.

I constantly get accused of being insensitive and mean to my co-workers because I don't put up with their bs or feel the need to kiss their ass and baby them

NO I try never to discuss Religion or Politics at work which usually gets people into this trouble. I respect everyones opinion even if it differs from mine. But I might think they are an idiot, but even an idiot is entitled to their opinion.

I was sent to Managerial Charm school well over a year ago for being *too direct* to female """Co-workers""".

It is mentioned to me at times and I wear it as a badge of pride as the price for attacking the problem and not the person.

I have not and will not change my approach. As long as I am within the guidelines of the law, and the company rules,I will never bow down to gutless executives that condone people who blantantly turn the faucet on and off as a ploy to manipulate gutless male managers.

I get a lot of emails at work, usually over a hundred a day.At the end of one particularly long day in which I had a 750 mile flight and four meetings a lady in accounting sent a mass email she labeled as "urgent."I opened it and it turned out to be that her cat had kittens and as she termed it she wanted to,"make sure they got a deserving and loving home only."
This to me was offensive,I was tired and I had to open this, read this, delete this junk.I replied back,"sure,i'll take all of them,my dog loves cats."
The next day the H.R. director requested a meeting, the accountant was there as well. The H.R. director summarized what happened and asked if it were correct.I acknowledged it was.She then exsplained how this accountant had lost a son not too long ago to cancer and these cats were her family and she loved them like family. She then said to me,"don't you have something you would like to say to her?"
I said, yes I do,"if you love the cats like family why are you giving them away"? And..."don't you know this company has a policy against sending personal emails?"
That concluded this meeting... though later I got her a kitten calender.
